Karenna Groff, BS

BS in Biological Engineering, MIT, 2022

Cambridge, MA

Karenna joined the lab in 2019, and is now extending her research as a masters student in biomedical engineering at MIT. Under the mentorship of Dr. Christopher Yuskaitis, she has worked on several translational projects geared towards understanding the role of mTOR signaling in epilepsy and early brain development. Her thesis research emphasizes investigating DEPDC5-related seizures in mouse models and understanding of whether late-onset seizures after DEPDC5 loss result from abnormalities in cortical development or later disruption in neuronal function.
